Italy is a lot poorer of a country than the US. The lockdown made them more poor and they finally said 'fuck it.' Unfortunately the US public will not fight lockdowns until they really feel the pinch so hard that the media no longer scares them. Lockdowns and masking will not end until people refuse to comply.
