leftists always think they can move people around like pieces on a chessboard. They never think that people react to their changing situation around them.
Like taxing the wealthy 90% or whatever their desired tax rate, they think those people will just take it rather than move to a more tax friendly country.
No, they think business owners have some Scrooge McDuck silo of gold coins in their backyard. Not literally, but almost. Most of these fuckers think, for some bizarre reason, that businesses have tons of extra cash laying around and are just greedily keeping it from their hardworking employees. I know professors who think this.
So, that business owner, in their minds, can afford to pay their people more, a lot more. They never consider the twin truths that most businesses run on very thin margins, and extra expenses will therefore always be passed along to the consumer.
Tax landlords - they raise rent to maintain margins. Force minimum wage - they adjust to maintain margins. Tax people more - they adjust and buy less. Give people more for unemployment vs. working, they choose unemployment...for people who love the word ‘systemic’ they don’t seem to think in terms of systems.
They see the end, but don't actively understand how to get there. These are the same people who in their mid 20s need to be reminded not to accept candy from strangers and not enter their windowless vans.
Kroger is a woke company that will do all they can to crush conservatives but could give a rats ass about their employees. But I still have a smug sense of pleasure knowing this happened especially if there were some democrats who lost their jobs.
The city morons forced a Kroger chain into a $4 an hour raise.
That's insane.
The stores are now closing. Bye bye jobs.
Being the cynic that I am, this is all part of their plans, accelerating a collapse.
I agree. China wants to rule the world and the USA was the biggest obstacle. Destroy the USA and their goals are a lot more attainable
I think you're right.
They want to start a famine, as punishment.

they usually forget that there's two players in chess.
there are. but the the pieces are citizens that have a mind, desire, and will of their own.
....and all of their pieces are pawns.
they think they are all pawns. Most of them are, but not all. And even the pawns have a mind, desire, and will of their own.
It shows how disassociated from reality and society leftists are.

Considering “food for less” makes you bag your own savings, I can see this.
$5 more an hour "Hero Pay" that is forced on the grocery stores.
Congrat's heroes...you just lost your job. Learn to code.
Don't worry, grocery stores will become obsolete once the bread lines form.
Grocery stores have tiny profit margins. 1% is what I've heard. $4/ hr raise for all employees would tank any business.
If they raised the minimum wage to $1000 an hour, everyone would be a millionaire in a year!
