It's a whore thing... In character for her. Words and actions don't actually mean anything.

Remember her interview on Colbert when he asked her if she believed what she said? And her response: "It was a debate" she said three times even though Steven was prompting her to provide a political accepted [but still lying] response. She should have known she would be asked about it and prepared something, anything other than "it was a debate". He all but begged her to say something not damning of her character.

What does saying "it was a debate" mean anyways?

  • she said something she knows will hurt his character but doesnt care about.

  • she believed it, but is willing to put it aside to get herself in power by accepting the VP nomination.

what other choices does she have? Just those two.

Probably already knew the steal was a done deal at that point so she didn't even have to try to explain. But you are right...either meaning is a display of a corrupt character.
