So we know the Chicago Mafia helped JFK win Illinois and therefore beat Nixon in 1960. This is established fact.

There is a credible theory that it was the Chicago and Mafia and the CIA who plotted to kill JFK in 1963.

**What specific action did JFK take in the interim to motivate the Mafia to turn on him? **

I can think of several possible answers, but haven't researched JFK as deeply as many on here and I'd love to hear your well-reasoned opinions.

Did you notice the alliance the Democrats formed after both Kennedy's were wacked? The mafia and unions.

I had thought the unions (and therefore the Mafia) were with the Dems as far back as FDR?

I stand (really I am sitting) corrected somewhat. The Kennedy's were only Dems against them at that time that is why they had to go. Here is something interesting you might want to learn about. The assassination of Anton Cermak, Mayor of Chicago during FDR presidency.

OK, that's a fun rabbit hole. I've got some more time sensitive stuff to go over right now, so I can't go much deeper, but thanks for that pointer.

The msm played it as a attempt on FDR but really Cermak was the target. Mafia killed him. History tries to paint Cermak as a good guy with the nickname "Pushcart Tony". He was just another mafia corrupt mayor. One of my great uncle's, now deceased was his nephew also named Anton Cermak. It is pretty interesting the spin even back then.
