I know once all is said and done and regardless of the outcome, these two will go down in history as brave, honest, loyal and great Americans. They ran a clean and good race and we're against vipers and snakes from hell. God bless you two and your family for all that you have done and sacrificed in your life.

All those guys who signed the Declaration of Independence were signing their own death warrant. They had money, they could have survived well enough without signing it, but they signed it knowing 100% of them could be executed for treason against the British monarchy if they lost.
As it turned out, “only” 50% of them got killed or executed.
We don’t have many people like that anymore, so it’s not too surprising if there are only a few people of means willing to stand up for national ideals if it means putting themselves at significant risk.
The reason they risked it all is they had 1st hand knowledge of things to come. The tyranny was becoming stronger and stronger.
