This is what conservatives get for not getting behind Ron Paul, Ross Perot, Bob Dole and other real patriots.

We’re stuck with a bunch of swamp republicans who (while better than the Dems) are an embarrassment to this country. The Bush family could have saved our country by backing Trump but they’re too elitist and compromised to do so.

How many Republican don't hate us? Maybe two dozen? And out of that number, how many would fight for us? For the record, I don't consider Trump a Republican.

22
JustinSonOfFidel 22 points ago +22 / -0

Two dozen seems like too many

I got as far as Matt Gaetz and then got stuck.

Josh Hawley. Paul Gosar. Off the top of my head. Maybe there are more, but I can’t think of any of them. The Senate is basically all swamp Republicans or nutless wonders

buh buh buh split the vote buh third party split the vote you need to learn to compromise it is what good politics is about kid 49ers are great

7
Carry_Your_Name 7 points ago +13 / -6

Third party is NOT an option, never has been and never will be, historically and mathematically speaking under the current winner takes all system. The answer is still a reform of the GOP by putting new people in, and there're a few things that must be done: 1. Build a solid base of the 75 million plus working class people; 2. Set a clear vision of the future and a pathway to get there; 3. Purge all the sellout Bush republicans; 4. Resist the uniparty cabal's tyranny at local level. The most important one is No 2, the party needs a direction and some real substance. The old conservatives hold dear of their rights to free speech and free trade, they even idolize those values, but here's the kicker - those freedoms are actually enabling the commies to do whatever they want, that's why we've got the soft totalitarianism we end up in today. Free speech and free trade are empty slogans without knowing WHAT to speak and WHAT to trade.

Cruz better be not on that list

1
mcoulton 1 point ago +2 / -1

Cruz would always say what he thought he needed to say to appease the centrists and you could sense he was selling his soul.

During the trump presidency, he was free to say what he thought and i started liking him.

Now that he does not have someone protecting him, he has fallen back into his old appeasement ways.

I look at his actions as cowardice and not evil.

1
My2Cents 1 point ago +1 / -0

Cruz is angling for a 2024 run.

Will say whatever he thinks will better his position.

16
quell2 16 points ago +16 / -0

Trump was as close to a libertarian president as we'll probably ever get. Both sides should have been happy with him had the hatred not blinded them. So many good things could've gotten done for the country if people just acted normal and put America first. But...

cunts.

5
NormaJeanRocks 5 points ago +5 / -0

The problem was too many politicians had too many shady deals going on, and that was slowly getting exposed by Trump. They needed him out asap.

1
DoingStuffPoorly 1 point ago +2 / -1

Nobody is coming to save us, ever. Republicans don't have our backs, supporting ANYONE who stamps R or D next to their name is perpetuating the uniparty swamp. All the talk of a new party evaporated when President Donald J Trump said he plans to help Republicans campaign. Guess what? He still has the same people advising him to do that as led him astray repeatedly both before and after the election to the benefit of the uniparty. This is the best chance we've had yet at forming a major political party and I am concerned that we are too weak and easily distracted to actually do it.

2
HeavyMetalPatriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

We'll see what Trump says after the impeachment sham trial is done. I hope Trump doesn't think he can save the GOP - a bunch of scumbags who never supported him and only used him for fundraising and our votes. Even his SCOTUS picks didn't stand with him, or us, or the Constitution, or basic fucking common sense when it counted.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

beachbirdie 17 points ago +17 / -0

Excellent quotation. Paraphrased from Cicero in case any readers here wonder.

4
PatriotPirate 4 points ago +4 / -0

Thanks. I’m often picking up history lessons here.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicero

It feels this quote is from a specific speech. More reference?

1
beachbirdie 1 point ago +1 / -0

There are two places that I found most solid reference and you are correct, one was a paper by Millard Fillmore Caldwell presented to the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons in October, 1965. Caldwell was a Florida governor and state Supreme Court Justice among other things.

https://www.aapsonline.org/brochures/cicero.htm

And here:

https://lsaclassics.com/2019/11/01/sallusts-silent-cicero/

And:

Cicero's speech to the Roman Senate, as recorded by Sallust, quoted in Taylor Caldwell, A Pillar of Iron: A Novel About Cicero and the Rome He Tried to Save (New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1965), p.556.

For all we know, Ron Paul got the Bernie treatment.

14
NotQuiteHuman 14 points ago +14 / -0

They blocked the entire Maine delegation in 2012 just because some of them might have gone Paul instead of Romney in the primary. We must have unanimity, don't you know?

11
barkbarkbark6 11 points ago +11 / -0

Ron Paul had huge rallies everywhere and a very energetic fan base, Hillfuckery even commented on it to Ron Paul in a debate. The republicans scrambled to rewrtie their own rules and used every trick in the book in 2012, (exaclty like the dems did on 11/3) to keep RP from unseating their chosen fall guy Mittens from getting the nomination.

5
Dantalian 5 points ago +5 / -0

I LOVED Ron Paul & would have been thrilled to get to vote for him. I LOATHED Romney because he was the poster-boy of everything wrong with the Republican Party (crony capitalism, getting filthy rich by robbing the taxpayer, globalist profiteering, etc.), and couldn't force myself to hold my nose & vote (like I had always done). Thank God for Trump, who made them reveal their petty, ugly, traitorous nature, and now we can see there are only a HANDFUL of Republicans who aren't despicable RINOs.

8
ThomasJ 8 points ago +11 / -3

Right? At least Democrats actually tell you that they are the enemy. These people deceive you into believing they're on our side and try to control us into believing that they are on our side. If I'm given a choice, I'll shoot a Republican over a Democrat.

No. Republicans are far better than Dems. The Bush family was far better than the Clinton family, it’s not even close.

22
NotQuiteHuman 22 points ago +22 / -0

An analogy so that you understand:

One will beat you and then shoot you in the head; the other will lull you to sleep and then smother you with a pillow.

Sure, one's nicer about it, but dead's dead.

-1
YourOwnGreatGrandma -1 points ago +5 / -6

The mainstream Democratic Party supports white genocide and socialism. The Republicans dont.

That alone sets the Republicans high above Democrats, even if many of them are elitist, careerist, swampy backstabbing assholes.

How many decades of inaction from Rs have we gotten on abortion? When was the last time any of them seriously tried to build the wall on the Soutern border? Ah, yeah...never is the right answer...

2
hzuiel 2 points ago +3 / -1

I think you need to check your position, some of the rinos in there right now have ties to china. Many of them have a suspect voting record on things related to socialism and big government. Would i rather they be in power than the dems? Yes, but it's not a ton better.

1
Side-o-Beef_Curtains 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's like trying to argue about washington generals vs. harlem globe trotters. They are all on the same team playing a role. Don't be fooled by the different colored uniforms.

1
VenusDe 1 point ago +1 / -0

Dude, the GOP just certified a fraudulent election and lied the Trump incited an insurrection and his supporters are domestic terrorists.

They WANT Biden and Dem policies so they can pretend to oppose them to trick people into electing them without having to deliver actual results.

Their trick worked for a long time on a lot of people, but Trump exposed them with the Wall, immigration, abortion and Obamacare.

Looks like the trick is still working on you, tho.

1
NotQuiteHuman 1 point ago +1 / -0

At what point would you consider the national party to be represented by its "many" backstabbing assholes? Is it when they consistently support and promote the backstabbing assholes over candidates with a proven track record of advancing the party's platform? When the party, by its structure, participates in the laundering of Average Joe Donor's money? At what number of refusals to uphold the principles it campaigned on would you call it corrupt and part of the problem?

Basically, I'm curious at what point you'd decide that the GOP is just the good cop to the Dems' bad cop. I'm already there, as you can guess--have been for years--but I would like to know when you'd run out of patience waiting for words to turn into action.

4
barkbarkbark6 4 points ago +4 / -0

Republicans have been throwing elections on purpose after having cut deals with their opposition. Examples; Mitt Romney 2016. John Mcain. And for any Nevada pedes, Harry fucking Reid was so hated all any opposing candidate had to say was "I'm not Harry Reid" and they would have won. Sharon Angle was picked and she fucked up the election.
