One of the worst problems has been "oh, but it's their culture!" -- which has done nothing but encourage criminality and irresponsible behavior while at the same time branding those who never thought that was/should be "their culture" and have no wish to partake in the same as race traitors.

The peer pressure on black children at school is beyond belief -- they are terrorized by their black peers who ascribe to "their culture" (who do come from very dysfunctional home lives, not all of them poor...but definitely dysfunctional), and it is permitted by the schools because "it's their culture; we shouldn't be racist!". And that says nothing about the other social influences being peddled to them (and other kids). It's a very vicious cycle...one I'd like to see stopped, but realize that it never will or at least not in this socio-political climate.

I have my own theories on why this is so, and how it is being played out within other racial groups, but it just depresses me. Hopefully I am wrong or will be proven so in the future.

Please don't look up Occam's razor, seeing as you're already depressed.

Too late. I'm pretty sure I am correct, and that's kind of depressing because it is disillusioning in the highest sense.
