it's not going to be just a signature- all 50 states maintain a Vaccination Database already, that's linked to each office, hospital, clinic thru a login of the doctors and nurses. So the doctor not only has to fill out a piece of paper "certificate" for you, but then enter you into the database for the state (and of course face more "fraud" charges if caught)...
Not sure how the airlines plan on doing this besides a chip/ new legislation that allows them to have access to the database....sure right now they could just demand to see a paper certificate of vaccination (I hate calling it that word since it's more like gene modification treatment) like I hear some places do regarding test results (must have a negative test for access to whatever it is)...but I def see them giving them database access and the first person who presents a certificate that is then checked (and missing in the database) sets off the further federal crackdown on all of us...hell they'll probably construct and maintain a federal database in addition to the state databases, and spend 600 billion making it...although if they do that then we can all breathe easy because it won't work.
Definitely, but to be fair, the doctors I work with aren't going to be vaccinating anybody or profiting off it in any way, so their excitement isn't profit-driven (which makes it all the more disconcerting and bewildering).
My brother, on the other hand, is at least skeptical about it. He got it (because he has to), but he's pretty indifferent about it (from a medical standpoint), and just as against any kind of politicization of it, forced vaccinations (or stipulations attached to being vaccinated or not), etc., as we are.

The virus was traced to even before people knew about it. So you would have had to permanently stop all flights AND any traffic between cities via other vehicles.

I'm going to have to disagree with that, unless you have walls between each city, and full disinfection of every single item that passes through each wall, it will not stop it. Managing the viral load early in each patient, along with prophylactic in high risk people would probably work much better. From personal experience.
Well, supposedly the lockdowns worked in China because they were so strict. Here in the US, we basically had fake lockdowns with too many exceptions to the rule, so we just dragged out the inevitable. OTOH, I sort of think that once this cat was out of the bag, there was nothing we could do. By the time the cases started popping up all over the country, it was too late. Like trying to stop the wind from blowing.
I do think that concentrating on the elderly and high risk, like you mentioned, is a good idea. The fact is, for most people under 70, the risk of dying from this is insignificant. In my age bracket, the chance of death is around 0.02%.
The fatality rate for covid is actually very low and comparable to flu, with a higher skew towards elderly. It is the PCR numbers here (that they are admitting now are way overblown) combined with under reporting in china.
We also had hospitals getting financial incentives to report cases as covid. Wasn't it $52k if you had a patient on a ventilator, $15k just for a covid in patient?

I know many people who have gotten the vaccine. A couple of them actually had COVID, and said the side effects from the vaccine were worse than the virus itself. BTW, they are doctors. I've also talked to quite a few people who recently got shot #2, and many of them are getting sick (chills, fever, tired, etc) to the point where they are just lying in bed feeling like crap. I know it varies by person, but in many cases, it sounds like the vaccine is worse than the virus.
I am in the 20-49 age group, so I don't really give AF about any of this. If Trump weren't in office at the time, our reaction to COVID probably would've been the same as our reaction to the Swine Flu i.e. no one would care.

Work environments today have turned into an extension of the school environments our current workforce were brought up in. It doesn't help that living in a urban/suburban life is kind of environmentally sterile, creating kids that are missing the practical half of their education.
With the democratization of education, everyone looks the same on paper and corporations seem reluctant to train anyone. It seems like they're spending capital on finding ways to automate and streamline jobs so that anyone can do them and that the company retains the value of the ability to perform work.

But seriously, the rules and regulations are what make flying complicated. What altitutde can you fly at here? Where is the restricted airspace? Have you set your NDB and VOR properly? Did you file a flight plan before taking off? There are so many things to keep track of that can get you into trouble if you mess one up. Instead, get into a car and just go.
Just driving to an airport is a headache. Heavy traffic congestion, parking issues, dealing with crowds, costs, waiting in lines then more waiting. It's like owning a boat you have to tow to a lake to use it. Once you're on the water, everything is OK. But getting there involves a lot of prep, costs, driving, docking fees, launching, parking.

I work in the airline industry, too. Most people don’t know that the airlines literally make several dollars per domestic flight. All of the money is in widebody flying. United has the largest percentage of its fleet as widebody; if they have to park those, because no one’s using them, they’re screwed. Every legacy carrier will be.
None of the CEOs of the airlines are what I would call based. The gov currently has AA by the balls, and Delta has been kicking passengers off. If anyone is going to break rank, it would be a Low Cost Carrier, and I mean low, like a Spirit. Or Breeze, when it gets running. It would be an enticing preposition, to acquire the air monopoly, over night.
I agree with everything that you said. Here’s a good preview for the hyperloop. Japan used to have such a large amount of domestic travel, that they operated 747s(!) among their cities. Cities that are not that far apart. The bullet train comes in, and that completely evaporated.
Eventually, a hyperloop will connect two cities of a distance that you might fly. Like, San Francisco to LA, NY to DC, etc. The air traffic, along that route, will be obliterated, and the message will be received.
I would say that either St Louis, or Kansas City will become the hub. The networks will likely start linking coastal cities, and moving inwards. So, they’ll eventually meet, in the middle. At the same time, Chicago will need to meet with places like Dallas, or Houston. I think, right now, that it will trace the old cattle industry, where all of those quadrants meet in one of those cities. They’re both mid-tier cities; getting a contract for a hyperloop hub would put them on a Saturn V, to the moon.
All of this is subject to however the feds choose to play the game, of course. It’s a decades-long project, with an infinite amount of red tape. However, I firmly believe that the airline industry is about to be in a bad way. Not just about passenger control. The culture in AA is garbage. The culture at United and Delta are garbage. it's not going to be just a signature- all 50 states maintain a Vaccination Database already, that's linked to each office, hospital, clinic thru a login of the doctors and nurses. So the doctor not only has to fill out a piece of paper "certificate" for you, but then enter you into the database for the state (and of course face more "fraud" charges if caught)...
Not sure how the airlines plan on doing this besides a chip/ new legislation that allows them to have access to the database....sure right now they could just demand to see a paper certificate of vaccination (I hate calling it that word since it's more like gene modification treatment) like I hear some places do regarding test results (must have a negative test for access to whatever it is)...but I def see them giving them database access and the first person who presents a certificate that is then checked (and missing in the database) sets off the further federal crackdown on all of us...hell they'll probably construct and maintain a federal database in addition to the state databases, and spend 600 billion making it...although if they do that then we can all breathe easy because it won't work.

I'm going to have to disagree with that, unless you have walls between each city, and full disinfection of every single item that passes through each wall, it will not stop it. I do think that concentrating on the elderly and high risk, like you mentioned, is a good idea. The fact is, for most people under 70, the risk of dying from this is insignificant. In my age bracket, the chance of death is around 0.02%.
The fatality rate for covid is actually very low and comparable to flu, with a higher skew towards elderly. It is the PCR numbers here (that they are admitting now are way overblown) combined with under reporting in china.
We also had hospitals getting financial incentives to report cases as covid. Wasn't it $52k if you had a patient on a ventilator, $15k just for a covid in patient?

I've also talked to quite a few people who recently got shot #2, and many of them are getting sick (chills, fever, tired, etc) to the point where they are just lying in bed feeling like crap. I know it varies by person, but in many cases, it sounds like the vaccine is worse than the virus.

But if you can get your hands on it, it's a matter of warming and then filtering the oil so you have the cleanest oil possible. Then you mix in additives to keep it from solidifying in your tank or lines on cold days.

But seriously, the rules and regulations are what make flying complicated. What altitutde can you fly at here? Where is the restricted airspace? Have you set your NDB and VOR properly? Did you file a flight plan before taking off? There are so many things to keep track of that can get you into trouble if you mess one up. Instead, get into a car and just go.
Just driving to an airport is a headache. Heavy traffic congestion, parking issues, dealing with crowds, costs, waiting in lines then more waiting. It's like owning a boat you have to tow to a lake to use it. Once you're on the water, everything is OK. But getting there involves a lot of prep, costs, driving, docking fees, launching, parking.
How about an airline offers to fly you with no vaccine required? Freedom Airlines?

I work in the airline industry, too. Most people don’t know that the airlines literally make several dollars per domestic flight. All of the money is in widebody flying. United has the largest percentage of its fleet as widebody; if they have to park those, because no one’s using them, they’re screwed. Every legacy carrier will be.
None of the CEOs of the airlines are what I would call based. The gov currently has AA by the balls, and Delta has been kicking passengers off. If anyone is going to break rank, it would be a Low Cost Carrier, and I mean low, like a Spirit. Or Breeze, when it gets running. It would be an enticing preposition, to acquire the air monopoly, over night.
I agree with everything that you said. Here’s a good preview for the hyperloop. Japan used to have such a large amount of domestic travel, that they operated 747s(!) among their cities. Cities that are not that far apart. The bullet train comes in, and that completely evaporated.
Eventually, a hyperloop will connect two cities of a distance that you might fly. Like, San Francisco to LA, NY to DC, etc. The air traffic, along that route, will be obliterated, and the message will be received.
I would say that either St Louis, or Kansas City will become the hub. The networks will likely start linking coastal cities, and moving inwards. So, they’ll eventually meet, in the middle. At the same time, Chicago will need to meet with places like Dallas, or Houston. I think, right now, that it will trace the old cattle industry, where all of those quadrants meet in one of those cities. They’re both mid-tier cities; getting a contract for a hyperloop hub would put them on a Saturn V, to the moon.
All of this is subject to however the feds choose to play the game, of course. It’s a decades-long project, with an infinite amount of red tape. However, I firmly believe that the airline industry is about to be in a bad way. Not just about passenger control. The culture in AA is garbage. The culture at United and Delta are garbage.
