Remember when Reagan told the controllers they had 48 hours to return to their jobs, or be fired? They didn't, and were replaced with military controllers, IIRC. Anyway.....wouldn't that work against the teachers who refuse to return?

No one anymore has the balls to do that though.

Teachers aren’t federal employees.

Understood. Never implied the feds could, (or would), remove them. But states and localities have that right.

Would be a far better use of the National Guard.

Literally no one wants to be a public school teacher, especially not public school teachers.

COVID was a Godsend and a magical year for most teachers since most teachers are just classroom managers and babysitters for shitty kids, the products of shitty people made shitty by a shitty culture and their own, shitty parents.

Public education does a great deal of good in America. We need to confront the problems in the classroom by confronting the problems in the home.

So no, the military can't just come in and replace the teachers (but if they did so with drill sergeants, maybe some kids wouldn't end up in jail or dead 3 months after dropping out of high school).

Not advocating for the military to intervene,(I didn't make that clear), although it may work! Like the Southpark "Pandemic Special" where the defunded police became the teachers. Worth the watch if you haven't seen it.

We know southpark is going to have a field day with these recent politics. Mr. Garrison going to incite an "erection". Wanna bet it's gonna be Cartman wearing bullhorns face painted like Braveheart or more Mel Gibson puns?

I hadn't thought that far ahead, but you're right! My wife thinks I'm too old to watch SP. I'm 65 and have watched it since it's debut.

I'd heard that Pandemic Special was worth it. I'll have to check it out for sure. Thanks!
