My sons school canceled in class for snow and required online work so it technically wasn’t a snow day.

same with us. We have a choice of in person or virtual. about 80% do in person. When there is snow or school is cancelled for anything weather related, everyone still has school... virtually.

I’m not gonna complain too much about it because it prevents makeup days at the end of the year. I remember one school year being in class till Middle of June for makeup days.

yeah I don't mind it. At first I thought it would suck, but it's a reasonable amount of stuff that they do on those days, meaning the kids still have plenty of time for playing in the snow.

Yup I totally agree.

I remember one year we ended school a week early because of lack of snow days. I guess they had to use them or lose them in next year's budgets

The state tracks minutes of time classes are in session in order to receive credit for the class. If schools meet those minutes, they tend to let out.

Do they have to wear masks? Because that issue alone here has me doing virtual. Kids wearing masks is a fucking joke.

Bummer! We had 2 snow days last week and one two weeks earlier (our school is in-person) and the kids didn’t have to do anything online (thank goodness!).

Same in Rio Rancho. They've been trying to keep the kids in the classroom. On snow days they get out the chrome books.
