Amen. My school was out for a day and we technically could have gone virtual. We didn't. We get maybe one snow day every other year. If we would have gone virtual, I would have called in sick and played with my kids outside in the snow.

I think it's different if you live somewhere that almost never has snow days. Other places get so many that they're in school for weeks extra at the end of the year. Having very short virtual school on those days in order to avoid that makes sense, especially since the kids can usually finish it all by 10am or 11am at latest. Then they can go play outside as much as they want.

It’s the first snow day the kids have had in 2 years here in Virginia. I’m glad they got it off. Being a kid sucks right now. It’s good that they finally got a day where they don’t have to sit on their computer all day, doing menial tasks like some cubicle worker.
