Twenty years ago, my company had an auditor fly in from LA. We were in Montreal. I was comptroller. The CEO was worried he might catch stuff and recommended I take him out for drinks that evening of his first day going through the books. It was like the man had never been allowed out in his entire life. He was like a kid in a candy shop. We parted ways about Midnight. I got in at 9:30. He didn't show until Noon. I've never felt more guilty about anything in my life. He ended up back tracking all three of the places we started from. He was getting warm receptions from lovely barmaids. Apparently, he got back to his hotel room at 4am. We were not assessed anymore money owing. The CEO offered me a bonus. I refused his blood money. I did make him pay the bar tab for my Evil corrupting of the poor auditor from LA.
