When pointing this out to people, they seem to fully understand "how much it still reduces your chances" (unlike you who's not even trying!!) but shut their mouths and minds about the 97%+ survivability rate. Funny thing, numbers.

Useful, willing idiots.

In so confused. I thought the whole beginning of it, I remember watching that the masks were no big deal and didn't help that much.

And so is was like aight cool.

Then they were like well you know it helps of you breathe and couch and contains your potentially virus spittle, like that's why doctors even where them, so they don't sneeze into your open body of surgery etc.

And then I was like aight cool. That's reasonable man, like I'll wear one especially at work because I'm in retail and they also provided them. So I was okay with it, and you know assuming that is the actual reality of the situation (because it is) then it's all good. Like I don't mind wearing a mask in the middle of high traffic area so it can help me catch a sneeze or cough or something. Especially at the beginning when CHINA was like fucking blocking off roads and spraying people with sanitizer. I was like yeah man, least I can do until we know what the hell is going on.

But then you know that's when all the crazy started going on. And now everyone's getting it even though we are wearing masks, we know masks don't help at this point, maybe like better than nothing but they don't help significantly. And also we don't know if everyone is really getting infected. And also I've gotten and taken my leave and I've been far far worse. My aunt has gotten who is old and obese and says the same she has been far far worse. My SO got it, no big deal.

There is one person I know at my place of work that got it and then died shortly after and she was a morbidly obese black woman with a host of other problems. Here is the kicker though, she worked in the back where she had the least exposure and was reported to be fine the whole time and then she tested negative. And then a week later at the end of her leave she literally passed in her sleep.

Also. She got it very early on. My SO is lead at a daycare and I am lead at a retail center and we got it at different times, although by all stats we should have had it very soon due to our levels of 'risk' and especially when we were home quarantining with the known illness, we didn't get it from one another we got it at later times through different unknown vectors.

My aunt is the most curious of all because she is basically stay at home / furloughed wine drinker, taking online classes. She wasnt in the self quarantine camp, but she basically just did anyway but virtue of the fact she could, more of a sabbatical than a quarantine I suppose. Regardless she was a homebody for months then I guess one fateful day she went to krogers or something and got it all of a sudden even though she was masked up and so was everyone else?

The paradox I'm getting at is how can it be something so contagious that she got it from the only possible vector being a grocery store, where I practically live in one and it took over a year for me to get it.

Anyway. The moral here is masks quite obviously either do nothing, or do so little it doesn't matter one way or another and it is not worth rounding people up over. And also even i lf you do get this, like it's not that bad. It's not bad unless you are already bad. And if you are already bad then, well, I mean dont get pneumonia or the flue or anything else either and good luck. I would rather have the rona than strep throat everytime. It's just insane.

My thesis:

This has been some worldwide fear factor experiment. They are testing their ability to condition the population, they are not worried about our safety. I do not discount the virus or think that it does not exist. I think it could have been manufactured. I also think it is just as possible it wasn't, however the obvious fact to me is that the leaders of the world are using this virus and capitalizing on the opportunity to experiment with some global conditioning program. Read; Edward Bernays / Pavlov / Freud etc however this is contemporary mass psychology much more refined and developed from decades ago and it is working flawlessly imo.

It is way more survivable than 97%. That's just the overinflated numbers they give us. On October 5th the WHO estimated 10% of the world's population caught coronavirus. If you divide the 1,037,801 deaths by the 779 million people (10% of the worlds population on October 5, 2020 that gives a death rate of 0.133%. And that's assuming that every person that died with covid died from covid. That number, according to the CDC, can be as low as 6%, which if true, would mean that covid has a death rate of .008%. I believe the .133% number is a bit more accurate, but it definitely isn't 97%.
