As a woman, I find this "illness" very offensive to women and men. I have gay friends, but luckily they are conservative and would never support this sickness infesting our military. Our country is an embarrassment. My family arrived on the mayflower and in georgia in the early 1700's and have served this country in every war domestic and foreign. This administration is an absolute stain on our collective family's legacy. I am absolutely repulsed and disgusted by the state of this country and for those who call themselves american as they destroy our country. At this point we need a miracle or a cleansing.
Don't ask don't tell was for homosexuality and that got tossed out the window post bush jr, service members can be openly gay now and I don't think to many people have a problem with that.
I remember back in basic training. During our first run there was this small guy, about a hundred pounds soaking wet. He ran his heart out, then almost passed out half way through. Kid has asthma really bad, he lied to his recruiter, he lied to the doctors and lied to the drill sergeants even in the middle of an attack.
Because he desperately wanted to be in the military. Had a family history of service and it shamed him to no end to think that he would be denied the ability to serve in any capacity because he couldn't run.
But that didn't matter, he was on his way out the next day.
fuck it, now that we've opened the ability to openly serve with one mental illness, why not all of them?
