Well technically yes. He was charged with perjury and "being a bishop while being a layman".
He was excommunicated due to political machinations and then, somehow, became a pope.
One king wanted him to become archbishop of his kingdom, the then-Pope refused, some beef ensued, excommunication, few years later he assumed the papacy after death of his predecessor.
But knowing history I can't look at church any different than at the most convoluted, manipulative, overpowered former super-power
They called all the shots for a long, long time, basically deciding who's king where, while accepting bribes, accumulating enormous wealth and many times living a lifestyles of worst scoundrels. Purely shameful institution if you ask me.
It's not like that was some sort of opinion that was pushed on me. It came from analysis of history of my country in most part, written by then alive scribes.
How they made living hell out of our Queens live after pre-arranged CHILD MARRIAGE was LAWFULLY cancelled, and one of the Hapsburgs (fucking inbreds) straight out lied, bribed the church officials and put her on trial, accusing her of marital infidelity towards our king. They were successful enough to the point of our king doubting her own wife, when the undeniable evidence clearly stated that it was no where near being possible.
I respect Christianity and know quite a few very good priests that I had honest pleasure to listen to even as an atheist - the one who oversaw the marriage of my brother being prime example. But history, written from many points of view, speaks for itself.
They maybe were not a hell spawn. But they were far from saintly institution they claimed to be, and that's the source of the shame I speak of, imho
If they impeach trump so what. He wont be convicted. And then it gives us the chance to impeach Obama and biden at the same dam time. Id love to kill those two birds with one stone. Then we can impeach the rest of them on abuse of power. Everyone that voted to impeach trump with no witness no defense team. Everything they have done for the last 32 years that ive been alive for. Has been an abuse of power the only person not to have done that was Geotus.
Catholic church once dug up a corpse after a long time to put on trial former pope, so...
Well? Was he guilty?

Really convoluted story.
... and God facepalmed so hard the heavens shook.
I'm an atheist. I respect Christianity.

The books are written by the victors. Maybe, just maybe, what you read that makes you think like that was written to make you think like that.

Now study biblical monarquies with the same dilligence by reading only the Bible. Don't be surprised if you change your mind.
Also, don't confuse catholicism with Christianity. It's not the same thing. Catholics are satanists in origin.
