I walked into a liquor store without a mask. The guy comes out from the back room and says "you got a mask?" in a demanding way. I say "you want my business, or not?", and he says "yeah..." in a defeated sounding tone. I get some whiskey and say thanks, and that was it.
Small businesses should be ignoring this nonsense, but maybe he watches a little too much TV.
I did that at a 1200 sq foot Chevron station. Nobody else was in there and the cashier was behind a protective glass. I was only going to be there for 60 seconds. Someone pumping gas outside reported to the outside attendant. He came in and told me I wasn't allowed there without a mask. After looking around and seeing nobody else in the store, I simply just told him thanks and left.
People have taken only when you can't distance for 6 feet for more than 5 minutes in enclosed spaces to mean all the time "just to be safe". People have lost their minds and the ability to reason.
