Good teachers are worth their weight in gold, but most teachers now thanks to unions and common core are not those teachers. Even while working they don’t contribute much beyond miseducation at this point. You could probably learn more for free online and by having your kid join some local project groups and athletic groups than in public schools. Here in the Bay we pay crazy taxes on our public school and they still fucking blow. One of the chief BLM and otherwise agitators that gets things violent is a middle school teacher at a Bay Area public school. She was on Tucker. He didn’t even say much the whole time, she just went complete bat shit.
Those are the people we’re paying not to work out here. Maybe we’re better off not having public schools now.
We had this family from Japan move into our neighborhood. The dad was an engineer. One of my other neighbors is also an engineer and we were bullshitting about schools and the Japanese guy went absolutely berserk over Commie Core. He ended up sending his family back to Japan because he was so pissed off about the stupidity of Commie Core math and he didn’t want his kids to be years behind the other Japanese kids in math when his assignment in the US ended. That dude was based as hell.
Oh, that flipping Common Core -- nobody can do anything with it (of value). Talk about confusing af. When it got instated a lot of us just went about teaching the curriculum the old fashioned way, yet still had to set aside class time to teach to the test because it now demanded CC. It was a great waste of time. Common Core can make the best of teachers and students into babbling idiots in 0 to 60. When asked about it, I've just said "no".
There were however those who insisted upon using it in the classroom with the expected results (teaching is often a cat rodeo at the best of times; this just made it worse).
So, now we have No Child Left Behind (ps. some of them need to be held back) and Common Core (aka. confusing af) and BLM bullshit (the local public schools are politely ignoring it, for now, until they are forced not to, but the colleges in the area are hiring anybody/everybody who promotes it and the local progressive groups are pushing hard on the school boards, so we'll see what happens). Is it a fucking mess? Why yes, yes it is.
I mean, I get it. I was working from home 90% of the time before the coof, and not having to sit in traffic every day is a pretty big upgrade to life. That shit was like 2 hours out of my day! But if my employer said “okay start coming back into the office or no more job” I wouldn’t lose my job over it. I used to sit in traffic listening to podcasts, I could do it again if I had to.
Teachers around here have been back to in-person work since fall; and online went active within a month of the lockdown last spring. Everyone was kind of happy to be back in class.
Of course, we be but simple rural folk around here...not the sophisticates of the Chicago Teacher's Union.
I want all public school teachers fired. Let charter schools take over and refuse to hire any of these leftists. Ex Teacher, they suck and like the 3.5 month vacation and 2nd to none pension.
Teachers are one of the groups that don’t have to pay social security. They get a pension instead that they have to work a number of years to vest. Same with pretty much all public sector employees. That’s why the public sector is full of people going through the motions, miserably marking time before their pension kicks in.
That’s funny and all that, but no. There are many many many many many parents who can’t afford anything better than public schools. That’s very unfortunate. I know many parents who are in a situation where teachers are pretty much checked out. Their kids are suffering, greatly, they’re going to end up losing almost 2 full years of ANY education, even for as mediocre as it would’ve been. No. This never should’ve stood. Ever. We should’ve fought this tooth and nail and we didn’t. Yes parents can do more to interfere and help out at home, get their kids a better education, of course we know that. But you also do realize that there are some parents who are horrible, or not very intelligent, or not very organized, many of them are even well-meaning but incompetent. It’s unfair for their kids. And we allowed this.
Did you know that kids in elementary school rely on SEEING mouth movements to learn how to speak properly? Masks are even interfering with that. Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of children are behind in their speech development because of masks. We never should’ve allowed this to happen. Ever. We should have fought and we didn’t. In fact our own “representatives” all of them, I’m excusing no one, not even the White House, rolled over and played along with the hysteria. Nothing that has taken place in the last four years is more damaging than what is taking place with coronavirus lies and hysteria. Nothing.
You make a very powerful point. I know all of this and share your outrage. My flippant comment was meant to point out the awful brainwashing that happens in schools, but your point is easily more important.
Ya the issue is younger children. Once reading abilities are decent, textbooks are better at teaching than most teachers. Just takes more dedication and hard work.
I never needed a teacher except for math. Just give me the book and then lets discuss the pros, cons, and how it affects society. Sesame Street taught me how to read and count before I even went to kindergarten.
My dad is an engineer and the only reason I passed math tests was cuz of his tutoring me. You think you can learn algebra in a class of 35 kids who can't behave right before lunch? It's damn near impossible.
My parents had a computer and had some of those Jumpstart games before I was even in school. They were shocked when they found out I knew how to read and do math before preschool.
Good for you. There are a lot of children who are suffering that just aren’t as cool as you are I guess. There’s no one to stick up for them, they are voiceless. This never should’ve been allowed to happen. Ever. But good for you, tough guy, I’m glad you don’t need the public education that is the only thing some kids parents can afford.
My kids will never step foot in public - but we’re fortunate. Many kids aren’t.
But that’s OK, while we were rolling over for coronavirus hysteria there were some spicy tweets from the White House. That makes up for it. Spicy tweets!
I grew up so poor in the Bronx that I would have to sleep in full winter gear in the winter and did my homework by candlelight many times. There was nothing lucky about my childhood. Other than a love of books instilled by my family that allowed me to educate myself into college level reading and comprehension by 5th grade.
This is why I would argue all teachers of a subject should have a degree in that subject. No I dont mean in "math education" ... I mean in "mathematics". I was able to avoid all that bs in the education classes by getting an actual math degree and working as a TA and tutor in grad school. Ne ve r once took an education class. Not to brag, but I have some of the highest reviews from students. My guess is a lot of the sjw brainwashing happens in those "education" classes.
Its ok, just wait till shit eventually starts opening back up and the parents now gotta scramble to pay for a babysitter while their kids are "in school". Whenever it happens that is.
They want to teach virtually from home. Remote learning.
Most teachers are liberals. Liberals believe the pandemic is killing off 300 billion people per day (Biden Math). Some are legitimately afraid to go to school and teach kids because of the coof. But I suspect most enjoy spending their time at home and being lazy "teaching" kids through a monitor.
I have a liberal Facebook “friend” who is a teacher in Florida. They’re not only afraid to go into school to teach, they are free to go outside their house. Recently they admitted that they spent almost 2 months without even sitting on their own lanai or taking a walk outside because they were so afraid that someone may be walking their dog or what not and not wearing a mask.
The only people who keep spouting this bs are ignorant non teachers. Every school district is forcing every teacher to work 14 hour days right now to teach both in person and online because retard parents won't take their kids to school no matter.
Our side is lazy, lazy enough even to allow an election to be stolen in broad daylight. Not one security camera, and while the ballots were being shipped and in counties stolen not one sheriff was dispatched, not one US marshal, no protection of ballots, no protection of the polling places, not one security guard, nothing. We got our asses handed to us for four fucking years straight and no one wants to hear it. But that’s exactly what the fuck happened.
Some of our leaders were golfing during “stop the steal” rallies. Can you even imagine that? And we are excusing it. This is happening because we allowed that goblin Italian Dr. Fauci to lie to the American people every day 6 feet away from our president, with absolutely no consequence, the same way there was never any consequence for spying or sedition or treason for four years.
And while some of us railed against it we were told to sit down and shut up because we weren’t allowed to complain about our God Emperor. Well here is what happens. This is what we get. We refuse to push the people that we trust into doing what they are supposed to do, what they promised to do, what they ran on doing, and now we have to suffer the consequences.
Everyone that told the “complainers” to sit down and shut up, why don’t you ask them why we are sitting here right now like this? Ask them WHY IT WAS FINE TO WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT AND WAIT FOR JUSTICE AND NEVER QUESTION THE LACK OF ACTION.
Ask them. Ask them why that was OK. Ask, I want to know.
There were a couple days after the Texas case was ignored by SCOTUS that a lot of people here were saying similar things you are now. Hell, there were people screaming about the steal since they stole the '18 mid-terms. Every time they were called a shill or doomer. Every one of those 'doomers' were right. Inaction at every level.
The only people who have actually done something were the patriots that showed up to the capitol and immediately afterward so many people here started calling them anti-fa. I even saw some saying Ashli fucking Babbit was anti-fa.
Some conservatives, I believe Greg Gutfield threw this out, even before state restrictions this past year leading to virtual learning...
I think there's something to the best of instructors across the country having classrooms of millions.
I do think the students going into a building and having supervision over their instruction is important. Parents depressed about the future of their country during lockdowns probably isn't a great educational environment.
There's a lot of ways education could be redone, talent better managed, but I'm just spitting ideas into an ether. Haha
Wow. We've had kids in class since September. A couple of our oldest teachers decided to retire in December, the rest of us have been fine. And I'm 63. Just had open heart surgery 3 months ago and back teaching after 8 weeks. There have been very few covid cases. And the ones who have gotten it have all been outside of school. NOT ONE STUDENT OR TEACHER has gotten covid from an in school contact.
From the look at the statistics like graduation rate, reading level, and classroom disturbances it looks like the teachers haven't really shown up in some cities for years.
Here's the thing, this is bipartisan. Everyone is sick of this retard world we're living in. Everyone wants to fucking go back go normal life. It's been about a year and by now most libs will look at the numbers of infected and might know those that were or even were themselves infected and realize that this is pretty fucking stupid.
That's just 40% that think they should be fired or suspended. There's another huge chunk that is more sympathetic and say something like "well let the ones that are worried stay home but we need to figure something out to get kids back into school now."
The reason teachers are being twats about this is because they're the foundation of the movement for big government. The dream they're pushing for is a socialist utopia where everyone gets what they want and the government waves a magic wand to make everything perfect for everyone. And the government making them go back to work when there's still a .002% chance they might die flies in the face of their ideal where a benevolent government lead by their "good" guys will make them work.
And you think that’s good? We are getting crushed. Every day. They are winning. The media is winning. It’s not the Democrats anymore. They aren’t in charge. They take orders from the media. That it is not obvious to more people is another reason why we are not winning.
What's surprising is that more people aren't in favor of firing and/or suspending teachers that won't do their jobs. How many of you could tell your boss that you don't feel safe so you aren't going to go to work until the company gives you better equipment?
If you don't show up for work then no pay, and that includes Benny's, not that you're worth it anyway. Your product is way below the standard it should be.
Wish you could. In a charter school maybe. In community college definitely. But in gubmint school they require an indoctrination certification (credential).
The Teachers unions have too much power. In NYC where I was born and raised and had my career ( Lucky now to have escaped) No teacher ever gets fired, if there is "an issue" the teacher is sent to to the escape room a place they have in Queens NY and gets to sit there all day doing nothing while getting paid . And if it's really egregious they sit there endlessly. months even until they can send the problem teacher into another school
I didn't grow up in NYC but we had a teacher show up drunk to class and she did this for years - people grades ahead of me remembered her. She still wasn't fired and she was totally shitfaced all the time.
should be twice that at least. "disease risk" is not an excuse. If you can't handle being in the room with kids, MASKLESS and NOT SOCIALLY DISTANCED, then you shouldn't teach. Retire, LEARN TO CODE, and get a job you can phone it in from home
40%? That seems low. Remember that teachers conveniently didn’t consider themselves “essential” so they refused to teach their students in person. All the while heading over to Walmart and the local grocery store. I guess the clerks were “safe” but the kids weren’t. Then they demanded that they be prioritized for the vaccine. In NY teachers can get the vaccine. The hypocrisy is so rich.
my relative is Texas teacher and got “fired” for not showing up... it took damned near a year and they promised her job back but they were bitching about being fired, no bitch you refused to show up to work, meanwhile I have been working non stop and 1 no show shift would mean trouble
Teaching used to be an honorable profession, but now they’re just Union, left wing lackeys who don’t give two shits about children, and in fact, most of them favor murdering them before they’re even born. Teachers suck.
60% too few. :/
40% probably means more like 60-70%
Survey question: "Do you want teachers to be suspended or fired or die?"
Results: "40% favor firing or suspending teachers"
Could be rephrased as: "60% support paying teachers that refuse to work"
Good teachers are worth their weight in gold, but most teachers now thanks to unions and common core are not those teachers. Even while working they don’t contribute much beyond miseducation at this point. Commie core is taught to keep the masses from being too uppity.
Can't code or do anything when you don't know how to do basic arithmetic.
Only those going to private schools will be able to fill those high paying jobs.
The rest can count using circles / stones / fingers because fuck it they'll be working at McDonald's or something anyway...
We are in the process of moving our family to Japan to prepare for a kid because of the way things are going, it's not a good environment.
In Japan, math teacher number one..... The best. Based Japanese pedes. Gotta love 'em.
You could learn more from playing fuckin halo then anything k-9
I learned some very interesting words while playing Halo.
Oh, that flipping Common Core -- nobody can do anything with it (of value). Talk about confusing af. 40% will admit it.
60% couldn’t respond to the survey because they went to a public school where the teachers didn’t teach them to read.
EXACTLY. WE SHOULD JUST DO IT LIKE REAGAN DID WITH THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS.
Yep. The Left just cannot seem to do math---the number of fraudulent votes too high, the number of downvotes on WH videos too low.
I would bet that the "Survey" did not mention that the Teachers were being paid either way!
Yeah, I mean this should be unanimous, or at least close to it. Teachers decide not to show up for work, get fired like everyone else.
Many have worked this entire pandemic. If masks work, what is the problem with returning to the classroom?
If they don't work, why the mask mandates? Hmmm...
Use a pillow. Fauci would stand by that.
Mike Lindell is ready!
Don’t be ridiculous and spread fake news. He’d ask you to double mask the pillow first.
We've been asking that question for a year! 🤷🏼♀️
Since aug 3rd. In person. The. Whole. Time. W both online and in person students...im tired:(
You need to move to a blue city! You could have had the whole year off and no accountability! :)
Imagine the trainings
I’m a chef. Guess what happens if I want to teleconference my meals...
I mean, I get it. I was working from home 90% of the time before the coof, and not having to sit in traffic every day is a pretty big upgrade to life. That shit was like 2 hours out of my day! The other 40% don't want them molesting their kids anymore..
NOTE: I went to Public School; 40%+40%=100%
Well Trump won with less than 40%. It’s not a democracy after all.
“Teachers” aka Brainwashers
I wouldn’t be surprised if the student were better off with them not showing up.
I don't think this is even in question.
That’s funny and all that, but no. There are many many many many many parents who can’t afford anything better than public schools. That’s very unfortunate. We failed the children.
I never needed a teacher except for math. Just give me the book and then lets discuss the pros, cons, and how it affects society. Sesame Street taught me how to read and count before I even went to kindergarten.
This must have been before Sesame Street became cucked.
Haha I love your comments!
Thank you, Fren! :)
Hey same here! As for gaming, Wolfenstein 3D was my first game. Started off hardcore.
Good for you. There are a lot of children who are suffering that just aren’t as cool as you are I guess. There’s no one to stick up for them, they are voiceless. Your condescending attitude towards friends in this community is kind of disgusting.
I grew up so poor in the Bronx that I would have to sleep in full winter gear in the winter and did my homework by candlelight many times. There was nothing lucky about my childhood. Other than a love of books instilled by my family that allowed me to educate myself into college level reading and comprehension by 5th grade.
Yikes. The breathing goes all the way in.
Home schooling baby!
This is why I would argue all teachers of a subject should have a degree in that subject. No I dont mean in "math education" ... I mean in "mathematics". Depends on the college/program. My dept was based.
Math teacher here...been showing up steady since August...👍🏻 who are these ‘no-shows?’ 🤷🏻♀️
So....tired.....😓
Aka people that are dumber than the kids they're supposed to teach
Fuck it. Fire them all!
"60% favor paying teachers that refuse to work and no-show"
What kind of commie upside down world are we living in? 60% of people need to have their mom and dad take turns whipping their ass.
I work with a person who refuses to go to work unless forced to by his boss. Somehow continues to hold a job. What a world we live in.
Its ok, just wait till shit eventually starts opening back up and the parents now gotta scramble to pay for a babysitter while their kids are "in school". Whenever it happens that is.
there's enough people looking for work, schools will be alright.
If you dont show up for work why do you expect to be employed? How is this not higher?
They want to teach virtually from home. Remote learning.

I hear death cures covid. They should try that out.
The only people who keep spouting this bs are ignorant non teachers. Every school district is forcing every teacher to work 14 hour days right now to teach both in person and online because retard parents won't take their kids to school no matter.
Have you ever heard your typical teacher talk about their job?
If you've talked to a teacher, you have, because it's all they talk about.
They are the whiniest bunch of employees in America, imo.
Their unions aren't doing them any favors, because my opinion of teachers pretty much couldn't get any lower.
When I was in public school teachers would take classroom time to complain about their wages to us.
Because the media is winning.
They think they deserve free money for existing.
This might be a good chance to clean house!!
THE GREATEST RESET
We have the best resets, believe me!
Got to get those numbers up.
Now just do parents.
If they're sticking with virtual instruction, why doesn't the school seek better virtual talent?
Well, I know why. Public schools don't care about their students.
But if they did, thatd be the way to go. Going virtual gives you national recruiting access.
Given that student's performance has been abysmal this past year, they need all the help they can get.
Public schools only care about asses in seats, results like "literacy" aren't required for them to get paid with our taxpayer dollars.
Some conservatives, I believe Greg Gutfield threw this out, even before state restrictions this past year leading to virtual learning...
I think there's something to the best of instructors across the country having classrooms of millions.

I'm a teacher, and my district is having us all return in-person next week. All the other teachers are literally crying because they are so afraid 😒
Wow. We've had kids in class since September. A couple of our oldest teachers decided to retire in December, the rest of us have been fine. And I'm 63. Shocking to who? Nobody wants to be paying government employees to sit around on their asses.
I'm so glad my kid is in private school. Public school kids here are still zoomin' with no end in sight.
No show at any job 9/10 you get fired why should it be any different for a shit ass commie teacher
How about we just stop paying them and deny them unemployment for voluntarily not showing up.

You know this poll is skewed
They ran it through Dominion
Hahahaha! Yep.
One of the biggest problems facing Africa is their education system. The teachers almost never show up.
Sounds like they're better off than we are then.
Duh
Only 40%?
Wow.
And you think that’s good? We are getting crushed. Every day. They are winning. The media is winning. It’s not the Democrats anymore. They aren’t in charge. They take orders from the media. That it is not obvious to more people is another reason why we are not winning.

If you're worried about the coof, I've got no problem offering early retirement to very old or at risk teachers.
Everyone else should be back to work or be let go.
Simple as that.
If you don't show up for work then no pay, and that includes Benny's, not that you're worth it anyway. Your product is way below the standard it should be.
I'm shocked it's so low.
I am a teacher. I support firing no show teachers.
Imagine not wanting to fire a cunt who doesn't want to show up for your kid because hating Trump is more important.
The NEA is a terrorist organization
I read that as Firing Squad.
Got my masters degree.
No teaching cert though.
I hate my current career.
Young and healthy.
raises hand
Can I teach somewhere?
Yes:) tx has great laws on this and mostly thoughtful professionals. Gotta figure out the good districts.
Wish you could. In a charter school maybe. In community college definitely. But in gubmint school they require an indoctrination certification (credential).
This would be awesome. It would eliminate a lot of hysterical teachers who probably can’t teach well anyway.
Yep, anything short of murder was "overlooked"
Wouldn't want to alert the public that there might be a problem with the education system now would they?
Well, I am shocked. I would have thought it would be much higher.
Thats way, way low.
Swap out the 'no show teachers' for something like 'Do you support or oppose businesses firing no-show employees?' Bet it jumps to 95%+.
should be twice that at least. "disease risk" is not an excuse. If you can't handle being in the room with kids, MASKLESS and NOT SOCIALLY DISTANCED, then you shouldn't teach. Retire, LEARN TO CODE, and get a job you can phone it in from home
How is this even a question? If you don’t show up for work you get fired, that is how the real world works.
Fire them all.
I’m sure glad I still had to pay like 5000 bucks for school taxes last year when my kids mostly stayed home and didn’t learn shit
"poll"... lol
Fire every one of them just like Reagan did with the air traffic controllers in the 80's.

Only?
ONLY 40%?!?
Shocker is 60% don't.
Did we reach 40% using common core?
So a minority?
Start firing and taking refunds boys.
Yeah, come to find out they’re not so amazing after all.
IOTW Majority does not support this
Teaching used to be an honorable profession, but now they’re just Union, left wing lackeys who don’t give two shits about children, and in fact, most of them favor murdering them before they’re even born. Teachers suck.
We dont all have unions in coastal states run by liberal twats:) just fyi. There is hope.
