Oh, that flipping Common Core -- nobody can do anything with it (of value). Talk about confusing af. When it got instated a lot of us just went about teaching the curriculum the old fashioned way, yet still had to set aside class time to teach to the test because it now demanded CC. It was a great waste of time. Common Core can make the best of teachers and students into babbling idiots in 0 to 60. When asked about it, I've just said "no".

There were however those who insisted upon using it in the classroom with the expected results (teaching is often a cat rodeo at the best of times; this just made it worse).

So, now we have No Child Left Behind (ps. some of them need to be held back) and Common Core (aka. confusing af) and BLM bullshit (the local public schools are politely ignoring it, for now, until they are forced not to, but the colleges in the area are hiring anybody/everybody who promotes it and the local progressive groups are pushing hard on the school boards, so we'll see what happens). Is it a fucking mess? Why yes, yes it is.
