"Scottish independence" is literally a front for Scotland rejoining the EU and should not be applauded. Granted, there are some patriotic Scotsmen who really DO want true independence, but the majority (and those with power), just want quasi-independence and to get back under Merkel/Schultz's wing (or whoever runs the show nowadays).
Though there's a lot more history behind it and a lot more bad blood, Scottish leftists view the UK exactly the same as American leftists viewed Trump; they'll take any alternative no matter the cost to their own good.
