I expected people were turning off their TVs after all the disgusting lies over the past month. The results were almost 100% that people had already stopped watching TV for more than a year already. A high percentage for 2 decades of more, and the second next highest percentage between 5 and 10 years off TV and then the rest between 1 and 5 years. The few that still watch simply isolate the content they want to view.

A thing I found interesting was that some people literally recall the day, month and year they stopped. So I'm actually going to ask the question: what was the catalyst.

Overall -- it WAS GREAT to see that pretty much 100% of the people on this board are no longer under ANY sway of media. That didn't surprise me because they're here, lol but the reasons why and what the replaced TV with were very cool. SO THANKS EVERYON E FOR RESPONDING. I'm going to post one more follow up so hopefully that's okay.

I quit gradually. It simply became something that wasn't worth watching. Too much sex instead of content. Degrading people. Immorality. MSM has been poor quality fiction for quite some time. I do watch old movies. The pre 70s westerns where the good guy always wins. The hero has one girl that he truly loves. Wholesome families. Fantasy. Memories of a better life.

I stream a lot of movies. That's about it. I don't even watch my favorite YouTube channels anymore. I guess you could say I got burnt out.

what was the catalyst

About fifteen years ago I was watching cable and flipping through the channels during a commercial break (which are all aggravatingly coordinated) when I noticed that I could almost always return to the channel I was watching within seconds of my show resuming without even keeping track of the time. I realized then that the programming had become so ingrained that it was affecting me subconsciously even though I was aware of the manipulative conditioning techniques. I figured the only way to break free was to cut the cord. I'd already been complaining about how commercials were the price we used to pay for "free" content and now we were paying ludicrous subscription fees on top of that, and this was the last straw. I made the decision then to tune it out entirely, and I never looked back. I'll be damned if I'm gonna subsidize my own enslavement.

Went from 4-6 hours a day between the wife and me to an hour of HGTV reruns in the early morning. No news at all. Even my non-political wife knows when she's being lied to. We watched a half hour of news and I was able to prove that every fucking thing they said was a lie.

I cant even believe the MSM people can live with themselves anymore

DONT WATCH HGTV lol -- that show cost me so much in remodeling and remodeling again and then again , and then painting and repainting!

I didn't see the original post =(

I only watch do it yourself shows and the odd doco. I just went down to my local shop to be told masks are yet again mandatory in my state of Victoria, Australia and I didn't have a fkn clue. Sunday night here on MSM there is a "special" about the "night Orange Man Bad lost the election" which I of course won't be watching.

Must be a typo -- he DIDNT lose the election

The catalyst for me was when the MSM went from fawning over Trump when he first announced his candidacy to feigning disgust when it became clear that he was going to win the nomination. The fact that it was universal, with the exception of Fox (likely due to his friend Roger Ailes), spoke volumes to me... I knew at that moment that none of the crap we see from talking heads is true...all narrative engineering. The only thing I watch now is Jeopardy! I also used to be a rabid sports fan - quit cold turkey when the spoiled brats started to disrespect your flag and anthem (I'm Canadian).

I've seen a lot of support here from Canadians -- we share the same values of freedom, free speech and much more and we both have fucking idiots in our politics
