I remember when google.commie didn't have the predictive search and all the algorithms that they now use to filter content and target advertising. Even then, I think it was 2001 or 2002, it was seen as a bad move for a search engine, and newspapers and computer mags were predicting all the free speech abuse we are now living with. Google was not the monster it's now become and they didn't own all the tech (android) and other companies they do now.
