This has been brewing for a while but the political stuff was the nail in the coffin for our relationship. It hurts to say it. I love the guy. But I can't be with someone who has zero fight in them and zero patriotism. I mean with as patriotic as I am now I can't believe it lasted this long. Sorry bro but being more religious isn’t gonna make your woman fall in love with you, it just doesn’t work that way. You could be a prophet of God and women will still spit on you. Fact is, attraction is needed in order to make a relationship work, and just cuz you pray to God everyday doesn’t mean women are gonna wanna have sex with you. Also, there are WAYYYYY more drawbacks to getting legally married than not. It’s not even remotely close. There are stories of world champion boxers are fighters who have to give their Champion Title belt to a woman because of divorce. Attraction is great. But it's not the only thing that is needed for a relationship to work and certainly not a reason to get married to someone on its own.
If you want kids I don't know what woman in her right mind would want to have your kids without being married bro. Marriage gives security to the child-bearing sex that's just a fact.
Attraction is the most import thing in a relationship though. Without it, nothing else matters because then you're literally just roommates.
Also, women already have security with kids no matter what. If you aren't married and have kids with a woman, she can still take you to court and force you to pay. Marriage only ensures that she gets more than what she would deserve otherwise. It's only considered "security" insofar as a huge lump sum bonus for someone with a stable career is considered "financial security".

Nah marriage is way more dynamic than that. Yes you are roommates, but you are also business partners, best friends, lovers, family. Attraction is great and needed but it's NOT THE SOLE DETERMINING FACTOR for marriage. That's why I don't feel pity for idiots who marry lazy bimbos shallower than the kiddy pool just because she's HOT.
And marriage gives security to the child bearing sex not just in money. It gives a protector as well as a provider. It allows the woman to actually raise the kid instead of working 24/7. Call me traditional but if you care about your own kids and want to give them a chance at life get married. Kids who have a mom and dad / stable home life are far better adjusted and far more successful than those without.
