I don’t use Gab but it was clear Gab was ready for prime time while Parler wasn’t but just had conservative influencers backing it.

Tbh - and this is kind of an asshole thing to say- but I’m glad parler bit the dust.

• Gab had been working tirelessly to be an alternative for years. Fighting through all the bullshit. Bootstrapping the whole way so they weren’t beholden to investors. If parler came along and just beat them to the punch that’d be kinda sad.

• Parler had some dumb phone verification garbage. Ew.

• We don’t know how solid Parlers team is. Would they have cucked and for example censored Trump for some bullshit narrative that the media was pushing and weak leadership was afraid to ignore

• if your free speech platform for conservatives was built by people who didn’t factor in that big tech has been continuing to increase censorship of conservatives by any means necessary for years, how can people trust that your org is gonna be on the ball anywhere else... this one was super obvious... we’re they just in it for the $$$ so they’d don’t know? Are they just slow? Are they even conservatives at all?? How could they not be aware?!

• they can now be useful in other ways, like suing the ever living shit out of big tech
