It was terrible work. They moved millions of users to a fragile wordpress site running on a leftist platform. It was a disaster.

I believe they even confirmed it. Who the fuck builds a Twitter clone on wordpress? There are tutorials that take an hour or two to get core functionality on Rails or Phoenix.

Holy shit. I use Wordpress a lot for my projects and love it. But I would NEVER build a social media site on it. No wonder Parler was so slow.

Like you said, there are so many good tutorials on youtube now on "how to make a twitter clone using frameworks from scratch".

Hell, Gab is open source and GIVES you their code for nothing. Just take theirs and make some changes.

We really need to support Gab and everything they are doing.
