So you admit he has a friend in the ss, who had a gun, who stood by and let a kid get raped.
Good, now that you've admitted the facts, let's work on your strange defense of the actions. I don't think anyone should stand by while kids are getting raped. I especially don't think law enforcement officers should stand by while kids are getting raped. IF they do though, since we lack a time machine, they shouldn't keep quiet about it.
Whether or not the courts do something about it is an exercise in fortune telling. Even if we know 100% that the courts won't get involved, we owe it to future victims, and the truth in general to report the truth. Hell, as far as I'm concerned the SS agent was an accomplice to the rape. His ass deserves to be reported for a crime. Yet bongino just calls him a good dude. I don't know any good dudes who let kids get raped. Do you?
You know what, I'm going to give you this one. I would have done something and been fired at the very least if I saw that. You're right that it's an incredible moral failing on the guy's part.
I do not know if I could be friends after knowing that someone stood by. However I know lots of people turn their heads the other way for other issues and that's at least half the reason corruption gets as high in office as it does.

That sir, is my point. I don't expect anyone to be perfect, but i do expect those who speak for us to meet a minimum standard of humanity, and protecting those who protect kid rapists doesn't meet that standard for me. I guess a less standoffish way for me to say it is, would bongino have kept the agents name in confidence if it was his daughter on the plane? I sure as shit would hope he wouldn't, and i also wouldnt want him to if it were my daughter either.
Yes, I concede the point. Also, I'm a lady. Additionally, I hold myself to impossible standards and am constantly criticized for it and told others can't be expected to do the same. I am realizing the truth is that others WON'T do the same. But maybe I'm taking a black pill and feeling defeated about now - people won't take off a mask, how can they be expected to put their career on the line?
