It's pretty real - and interesting. Certainly not boring. And President Trump is not boring. Plus Musk has been supportive of the White House and taken heat for it. I mean it's got a zero to 60 in less time than a Porche 911 and can pull over 14,000 pounds with a range of 500+ miles.
How more real can it get? Hell, it can even be driven on Mars (which I think is its real purpose eventually).
The Beast,Limousine One,Cadillac One, weighs about 20,000 lbs.Elan has nothing that could carry that kind of weight. It will take a 6.6 liter Duramax Diesel engine to move that much weight.Top speed of 20,000 lbs of raw american steel to move the president...100mph.Pretty damn fast to move that amount of steel. It would take years for elan to design something that could move The Beast.
It's electric so - like the Lunar Rover - it's Mars capable. And given the specs on the ground clearance with solid or metal tires and the pressurized cabin that he's talked about in interviews - it's ready to do duty off-world.
Elon's even talked about the Starship being disassemblable, so technically, it could be manufactured on Mars. So Tesla Motors could have the entire planet to itself basically.

Is Mars real or is it a synonym for Hell? Describe Mars, sounds a lot like hell.
