There was a libertarian project in a small town in NH called The Free State Project. Kinda the same deal but smaller scale. The problem they had was they had a bunch of hippie types who mixed in with them and wanted to just live under tarps and whatnot in the woods. Many of them also took the libertarian part really seriously and defunded almost everything in the town, so there were no street repairs, fire department funding, etc.
