I really don't care about a lot of protection anymore. I'm an ex JSOC guy with 5 deployments and a Bronze Star. Gave it to them because they notified me it belonged to the Capitol so I just gave it to them instead of having them get a search warrant. They left. Arrest me and it's bad optics. CAC cards are what government employed, military, and government contractors use to prove identity and access systems. It’s like an ID and a debit card had a baby (the gold chip). The card reader is just like what you use at a checkout line, weighs about 1.5 ounces. Both agents were vets and one said he invited the other agent because he knew he was a vet and wanted to not let me get in trouble. They can’t prove intent because When I picked it up I asked someone if it was theirs. They said no but maybe run to those people who just stood up from the seat. I ran to them and they said it wasn’t so I pocketed it and didn’t see what it was until much later. For all I know it was there for a week or two. My initial response was it belonged to someone near where I was. That’s what the cameras would see.
Anyone who was around they are interviewing and asking for info. Photo recognition is a bitch. I had a hat and sunglasses on. My phone was on airplane mode up to half a mile from capitol
I didn’t even bring a phone or anything with me! Was in lots of photos though due to my flag and flagpole, oh well! I assume i’ll get a visit eventually.
