There were a lot of Nazi soldiers who thought what they were doing to Jews was wrong, but who followed orders to do it anyway out of fear, coercion, or weakmindedness. It will happen here too.
The purpose of this exercise isn't to remove Trump supporters. Its to prevent them from leadership positions and from organizing and to drive them into hiding to ensure no threats to their control of the military arise. Its also to ensure they have "pure" units of leftists for certain tasks patriots would find repugnant (a Democrat version of the SS basically).
Militias are all infiltrated. It'd be stupid to join one. Underground networking and decentralized, small groups that never physically meet would be much smarter and more effective.
