I have had my account since the start but for some reason I have handshakes on mine, only noticed it this week and couldn't understand why they are there. So it must not just be new accounts.
Edit: Maybe it is just when viewing you own comments, just realizing it is gone now.
What’s a handshake account?
Brand new account. You will see those ones being at least a week old or younger. I think they disappear after a month.
