The Chinese communists represent them perfectly. No love for the working class but still authoritarian and globalist. I wonder why.

Nationalism spans ideology. Communists become quite nationalistic once they gain totalitarian control, because the State is the nation. The Soviet Union, China, North Korea, and Cuba are examples of hyper nationalism; national celebrations are frequent and compulsory, and you wouldn't get away with burning the national flag or any criticism of the country. Global conquest is the goal of all totalitarian ideologies, but that doesn't exclude nationalism. Indeed, while the Nazis were nationalist, they also had global ambitions.

I would argue that our current regime is more closely aligned with fascism than communism considering their close ties with corporate interests, who were also instrumental in their rise to power. This mirrors the Nazi's more so than the Soviets, although the result is totalitarianism either way.

Censorship is fairly trivial, most of it can be done by idiots. Goebbels, on the other hand, was a scholarly admirer of "salesmanship in print", i.e. American advertising copy and sloganeering, as well as American public relations. That art was not very developed in the Germany of the 20s, leave alone used for political purposes. Goebbels was actually Dr. Goebbels, with a degree in literature, so he had the right mindset and background for figuring out how US huckster were doing it and how it worked from examples. Goebbels was also a very good orator and probably better at impromptu speech than Hitler, and he paid close attention to his audience. So he became what possibly was the world's first real political huckster and spin-doctor, putting a lot of effort and work into developing his skill. Germans had had little exposure to sublime professional advertising at this point, so Goebbels hit them hard, always being on the campaign trail for more than ten years before the Hitler-party even came to power. As for fascist and nationalism: Goebbels did not care much about left or right, only for power and his job in political salesmanship. Fascism is merger of corporation and state. People only attribute nationalism to fascism because of Hitler. Look at Mussolini.

Zhdanov was responsible for party culture under Stalin. Though it is disputed if he had a more autonomous role or if he was just following what Stalin told him to do verbatim. For Lenin I don’t know, although there were organizations such as GLAVLIT and GLAVREPERTKOM that were basically the flunkies who did the censoring.

Yawn...the National Socialists were LEFTIST SOCIALISTS. By your own logic Stalin also turned the Soviet Union and other communist movements into a nationalism issue too. There is a reason Romania, Czechoslovakia, and others never were annexed by the Soviet Union. Soviets believed that each country was sovereign and was responsible to institute communism on their own.. Stalinism was a very nationalist version of Marxism-Leninism.

The original context was changed by Hitler's enemies to defame him and ignorant people continue to repeat the false meaning to his words because their education primarily comes from memes and other ignorant people.

There's a difference between propaganda for foreign audiences, often used for simple PR or to disseminate news to people who don't speak English, and China Joe's Domestic Ministry of Truth.
