God has a plan for everything and we're the soldiers in said plan. But there's some verses about how even the rocks will cry out to praise Him if we fail to do so. Or something to that effect from what I recall.
When something goes wrong in His plan it's our fault, we must take ownership of our piece. When something goes right in his plan it's because we humbled ourselves enough to do what He knows is right.
This isn't all some play where we get to sit back and watch because we know how it will end. And I hate when believers act as such. Just like I hate when people blame god for the fallout allowing us to choose free will has lead to.
"God let's babies die!" Uh no. "We" thought we could handle the knowledge of good and evil and look where we are today....
Because your assumption is that we're all on rails and stuck doing what "god's plan" is. Why then does he ask us to pray if we have no influence? He also created us in his image (sovereign) meaning individual and capable of autonomy. The way you're describing God is actually based around an assumption that he isn't all that he actually is and is diminishing his glory. And as such, we're not describing the same creator, though we use the same name and words.
I believe you are free to choose, and being all knowing means God already knows exactly what you will choose. You can't 'surprise' God with your choices.
But just because He may KNOW what you will choose, how does that make it his fault that you choose evil or poorly?
A parent doesn't raise strong children by never letting them choose poorly, but by teaching them through their failures. And warning them at every chance prior. But not by stepping in. THAT is tyranny.

His plan doesn't go wrong. It's his plan, and he is perfect, therefore the plan is perfect. Genocide and all.
