To stop any future election fraud we must enforce a rule that counties need to report their finished totals in order of most populous to least populous, no matter how long it takes them to do so. The less populous counties can wait to report. This is the only way we won’t have future election nights where counting is “paused” in populous counties, so that they can wait for the less populous counties to report their totals, which the more populous counties then use to calculate how many fraudulent votes they need to come up with to install their candidate. This ultimately should be a nationally enforced rule, no exceptions.

Tl;Dr Not a good idea.

Generally speaking, electronic voting is a very bad idea. If somebody figures it out, you'll hear about it because that would be a breakthrough in computer science.

A couple of points:

  • not everyone has internet (muh disenfranchisement)
  • not everyone has a driver's license (muh disenfranchisement)
  • you have to make sure that the person who is submitting the vote is actually the person who they claim they are (a number of way this can be compromised)
  • most importantly, votes are anonymous, so whoever is in control of the system can just make the totals whatever they want and nobody would ever know

There's only one way to have a secure elections right now:

  • hand marked paper ballot
  • hand counting with observers
  • obstructing the observers should be a crime and must be vigorously enforced
