It could. I see your point. But, seceding allows you to build a new house and bring only the right ones in. It is super hard to exterminate cockroaches from a 244 year old building. It allows to secede from out constitution, Bureaucracy and national debt.
I would be extremely difficult to get a constitutional convention. We would need 34 states and the Constitution must be revised and at the very least, to add term limits and strengthen state rights.
Also, we would like pick up Western Canada, especially Alberta. This folks are begging for 2A. Also, be really fucking cool to drive from Florida to Alaska and never leave land or the USA or whatever we call it.
