This is by design. They're getting it on the record so they use it in the shame impeachment.

This is absolutely on purpose and there is a goal.

Their prosecution is run off emotion. Which is funny, because arguments that appeal to emotions are usually overruled by judges.

Aren't a lot of these people lawyers? They would know that if they ever actually practiced law.

They're doing it here because they won't be under oath, so they can make up whatever bullshit they want to prejudice the jury.
