They actually don't eat a whole lot. You'd be surprised how little invertebrates need to eat. The pede is probably the most boring invertebrate in my collection because it spends so much time just trying to stay moist (they dehydrate very, very easily), but when it's hunting or going for a stroll, he's really fun to watch.

I might, however, rodents have to be very, very rare treats. They're a lot fattier than insect feeders.

One won't kill him. These suckers can survive being drowned. In fact, drowning them or asphyxiating them with CO2 to the point of loss of consciousness is about the only way to reliably sex them without getting mauled. They're bloodthirsty savages.
