The corruption was way out in the open just prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union as well. In fact it seems like every major empire that collapsed has seen similar behavior.
I honestly think its too late to fix it all. I love this country but personally I think the only remaining way to correct the ship is to reset it. Via revolution, civil war, balkanization, etc.
Yup. And if we go the way of Balkanization, I have no qualms with creating a true free state separate from the socialists. We can always reform the greater US after their socialist states collapse.

The core of our government is corrupt and the only way to fix that is carving it out. It won't go willingly.
