NEW COMMUNITIES!
Several weeks ago, Win released a small batch of apolitical communities, as part of its effort to become a true competitor in social media. Today, we are adding two of the most highly requested communities:
c/guns because you really ought to have a few (dozen)
c/christianity because God knows we need it (get it?)
You might say we're clinging to our guns and bibles
NEW FEATURES!
We recently renamed the 'All' feed to 'Front', because its name was a lie, as it only included posts from apolitical communities. We've added a new 'All' feed, which lives up to its name by including all posts from all communities.
COMMUNITY SUBSCRIPTIONS!
Most importantly, we have also released a 'Home' feed to Win!
The Home feed only shows posts from communities which you're subscribed to. By default, users are subscribed to the first batch of apolitical communities.
You can now subscribe to communities from the front page and the home feed, by clicking the small "+" or "-" circle next to the name of the community the post is from. New methods of subscribing will be added in the near future, such as on the sidebar.
A note about c/all and the new Home feed. Understandably, this is by far the most active community, and we currently don't "push" other communities into feeds, so until our other communities grow, if you include TheDonald in your subscriptions it will likely dominate your custom feed.
I'd like to give a personal shoutout to my favorite non-TheDonald community, c/diy!
DONATIONS
Now for the part we've been avoiding for over a year now. With growth, expansion, and features, come higher costs. I see the question a lot of people suspicious of who's been funding our site. The answer has always been us, the mod team. We've had countless offers from you guys, as well as advertisers, to give us money, and have always turned them down. Our fear has always been that taking someone's money makes you beholden to them.
After quite a lot of discussion, we've finally come to terms with the fact that we've reached a limit on how much we can spend while still providing a good experience and growing to an audience large enough to threaten the Big Tech Chicom Censorship Apparatus.
Our fear has always been that taking someone's money makes you beholden to them. The solution we've decided on is to eliminate that risk by accepting donations via crypto. Totally anonymous. If you donate, you won't receive a special flair, a mark on your profile, or any recognition. No one else will know that you've helped contribute to the greatest community on the internet but you. We're accepting donations via Bitcoin, BCH and Ethereum. Wallet addresses are:
BCH :qq6tva765dsquv2n82878vlrvjcsk3jt75h8yjm32g
BTC: bc1qt5dhhz2ca2l7990cyr6h9f9hx8xslq554yrlgu
ETH: 0xcde859E8A352F7f4A7764462a9edf46D8903C32c
We also enabled Brave Rewards on Patriots and Communities if you use the Brave Browser and would like to contribute without spending anything.
We obviously ask that you only give a donation if you feel its deserved, and that you can comfortably afford it. All of the money will go into funding and expanding the site, we aren't looking to make a profit.
This was a tough request to make, one that we put off as long as we could. We thank you so much for helping keep this place around, whether or not you chip in. Patriots.win and Communities.win are nothing without you, but with you, we're the best community of friends and shitposters the internet has ever seen.
There are many crypto wallets out there but I suggest you the bitcoin.com wallet. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is like Bitcoin (BTC) but with much lower fees and confirmation time. Just download the wallet in the app store and fund it with a credit card.
