I'm guessing he wouldn't have spent it if it would've put him out on the street, but he helps us/America, the good thing to do is to at least show him it wasn't all for nothing. It doesn't matter how rich someone is, the shit he has to read about himself does hurt and probably feels like the whole world is caving in on him at times.
