Just payed my property taxes and realized that I'm paying the government rent for my house and they're using it to pay rent for other people. Feels bad man.
Property tax mostly goes towards schools which indoctrinates our children into being alphabet people socialists.
I have 20 acres of undeveloped forest land which I pay $50/year in property tax. If I were to build a hobbit style house that can't be seen from the road or from overhead and if I don't file permits for the build then it will probably stay that way.
Good news is, even with permits, it's pretty straightforward and inexpensive (at least compared to building in-town).
Also, if you live in a tiny house, you can skip a lot of the permit process entirely (for instance, my county doesn't require permits for anything under 200 square feet, or for agricultural buildings of any size.)

That's the way to handle that! If you have water on that property, even better.
They just can't leave anyone alone.

How about just parking an RV?
or place a underground bunker
