100%, no question about it. Their allegiance isn't with the people or the Constitution, it's with their own skin and whoever signs their checks, in other words, they are nothing more than mercs.
I had the pleasure of knowing quite a few -- they are all the same -- power-tripping, short-tempered, sub-intelligent shitbags who'll lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want. It's also not unique to the USA, it's the same shit across the world.
Hard to say what the military will do but most likely, with the exception of a few 18B,C,D,E,etc.'s, the vast majority most likely will just follow the orders without thinking too hard about it, but who knows.
Time will show. Maybe it's all an illusion and things will normalize as chicoms start losing their grip...
