Man I hope you are right. Cause honestly, I don't see what you describe as reality and 2020 showed an insane amount of videos of cops smashing citizens who refused to wear masks or close their business, pray in congregations etc.
We have millions of contacts per day on this country that are uneventful, but there are always exceptions. Usually in hopelessly lost dark blue major cities, but not always. The other cop from Alabama is absolutely right: conservatives need to get serious about your local officials.
Reality pill: local law enforcement is the absolute last government/public institution still controlled by conservatives (I mean your average patrolman). It will be hard for the left to take it over because liberals are cowards and the work doesn't suit them. They know this and will try to destroy us instead.
