I'm a cop. Most of us are very, very conservative. Haven't enforced masks or curfew at all, no one on my agency or surrounding ones have. This even in a "blue" city. There's a few libs in every agency but they by far the exception.

It's not really true that guys will enforce crazy rules because they will lose their pension. At most you'll get a letter of discipline, but that's unlikely. We use discretion on lots of encounters from traffic stops to calls.

Best example would be a ridiculous gun confiscation law. Every cop I know would laugh at the prospect of enforcing that. Even the few lib cops wouldn't do shit because no one would back them up.

Cop in Alabama. I wish you people still believed in freedom because I sure as hell do. I've sworn a few times to the Constitution, and you can't force me to disregard it. Thank the Lord it's not bad here. Your local government has more authority than you think. Support them if they are working for you. Boot them if they aren't. The local sheriff is possibly your best friend or your worst enemy. The only one who can arrest him her is the coroner at least around here. They hold more power than you think. Quit thinking small at the sham Federal government, you have more allies than you might believe. Or you have a smaller voting population for those that really matter. The mayor control the police. The sheriff control the county. Get your voice heard to the people that matter. Congress is not your friend. Updoot if you know this is true.
