Bitcoin isn't the answer. It's a great form of digital gold that I own. But it isn't useful for purchases. Not anonymous enough at least. Monero is better for sure. But even then until there's a full decentralized, cryto bank that exists outside of governmental authority then all of them are a little tough to use.
They can't ban crypto - it is almost impossible. They would practically have to suspend the entire internet to stop it. And it will start up again where it left off when people are back online.
That is why they hate it so much.
Are you okay? They can definitely ban it in a legal sense making it impossible to legitimate businesses to use it. Sure you could use it with friends, blackmarket purchases or anything you could keep under the table, but at the same time that would be so inconvenient for most businesses. Supposing you gotta pay your electric bill, car registration, anything from Walmart or Amazon? You'd still need whatever currency is being used at that time plus something that legitimizes it.
The Federal Reserve is horrible, the fact we're just printing money at interest no matter what is thrown at is not a good way to run the system. However Bitcoin certainly has it's own problems. Over 10% of the coin is currently unaccounted for, it's own forms of centralized mining operations that could in theory work as an oligarchy to breach the 50% control mark. I mean, uncountable amount of things could be drawn from it. Also, bitcoin is just being traded between our FIAT money. The really rich USD holders would theoretically have more buying power than anyone looking to get in, so it's not any sort of reset to that corruption. There's just so many holes with it.
Something needs to be done about our money, but hopefully we do this more collectively without bankrupting everyones social security they probably won't get anyway. The least we can do it make sure it's worth it when the time comes and not sitting on a bankrupt currency.
That's great and all but where you going to spend it if the government decides to block that? Pardon me if this comes off wrong but most of the posts I see blowing up Bitcoin would appear to be from people holding stock more so than people who actually go out and use that currency in their day-to-day lives.
The black market or other countries.
Many people in Venezuela bought Bitcoin whilst it's utopian socialist economy tanked and the local currency became worthless.
People were then able to (illegally) exchange smaller amounts of bitcoin for local currency, so they could continue to buy what they needed.
Gold silver bitcoin monero, use them all! It is all in our benefit!
The government uses information as a form of control to black mail you. That's why you have to encrypt everything and use these decentralized technologies.
We can't run from the government forever. We have to realize it's possible to live in a world with less government and rely on ourselves. Share that lesson with your children too.
The correct approach is to boycott the government's corrupted financial system entirely to the extent possible.
Bitcoin and Monero are the way forward here.

Yea, and look at how big tech cut off parlor and other apps. They can cut easy access to crypto apps. I'd rather just hold precious metals

Not saying they could ban it, but they could make it extremely inconvenient

Bitcoin is pretty terrible as a currency due to high fees and zero privacy, look at it more like stacking gold coins as a store of value.
Monero is very usable as a currency with much lower fees and the best privacy you can expect out of any financial system.

100% agree
100% this. Also use strong encryption and privacy tools as much as possible.
