Did the world end when Hitler had taken most of Europe, had all but completely destroyed the entire British air force, and was exterminating Jews by the millions? No. Did the world end when Stalin was exterminating roughly 70 MILLION of his own people? No. Did the world end when the black death bubonic plague wiped out roughly 45% of the ENTIRE European population? No.
And guess what people were saying during every single one of those events. "Ohhhh noooo, the rapture is upon us, we are in the biblical end times!!!"
The bible tells us that we won't know when the rapture and end times are going to start. There is no point in trying to guess it. You'll likely be as wrong as the millions of doomsayers before you.
I do agree that world events might seem to be more lined up with how many interpret what the bible says about before the end times. But even then, we can't predict it. Someone was telling me the bible never references an overseas country like the United states so we have to be taken out as a major player before the end. My answer was: ummm maybe that just means that by then we've become completely isolationist and don't give a damn about intervening. Trump started no new wars and was pulling us out of other countries so we were well on our way there already. They agreed with me.
The reason people do this is because it's a zero effort cop out that means they can sit in their basement with their thumb up their ass and still feel good about themselves because "if I tried to change anything it wouldn't matter because it's a biblical prophecy that I can't change". It's the same people that sat at home for 4 years expecting Trump to do literally everything for them and then when he couldn't because we didn't help enough they bought into Q because, again, someone else was going to do it all for them.
