That too. People will learn the hard way I guess that you can’t have one without the other. After all it’s Free Markets AND Free Minds. This country needs a refresher.

People need to unlearn the programming that made them so afraid of death and misfortune...or we will not have that refresher.

You’re not wrong. You gotta have faith or it’s all for naught. Many don’t truly believe.

I do find that my religious faith is an enormous helpmate. A little story my dad told me:

There once was a very wealthy and popular merchant of Damascus. He enjoyed all the wonderful, good things in life as well as the respect and good regard of everyone. Life was sweet. One day, he was in the marketplace, and he ran into Death (who seemed just as surprised to see him as he was to see that dark angel). Terrified, he went home thinking of ways to escape. He arranged to make a ride from Damascus to Aleppo -- something which nobody had ever done before. Surely he would escape seeing Death. So he made the ride overnight, and was greeted by cheering crowds in Aleppo the next morning. As he was taking in the cheers, who should he run into but Death. "How can this be? I made the ride, and I escaped you!", cried the merchant. Death said, "That is why I was so surprised to see you in Damascus yesterday; I was told to meet you today here in Aleppo."

Life is good and wonderful, but none of us can escape death -- so we might as well embrace it when it comes to us. In this way, we can start to live freely as we should.

This is true! And it’s very telling that Big Tech and Big Government is enthralled with transhumanism. They want to live forever but Christians know where we’ve heard that before. Something something girl in a garden. There’s nothing new under the sun.
