When "Do what tho wilt" is the rule of the land and not the golden rule, then we are a lost cause and there is no hope. Empathy is what keeps us from a society of lord of the flies.
I'm sure you know your comments source. Though I agree psycopaths in positions of power are a MAJOR problem, we can't neglect the next bit of the parable. It's not our place to separate the tares from the wheat, but His during the harvest. Otherwise there is risk of uprooting some of the wheat among the tares.
You can't out psyco a psycopath, so it's best not to play them at their own game. You could lose yourself in the process and risk damaging the soul. If damaged enough you'd run the risk of becoming a numb sociopath. In the end you'd become that which you sought to defeat.
I agree with you ,no amount of environmental influence can sway a certain genetic type . We are truly handicapped by our own empathy .
