THIS was my hub's youngest daughter, never worked she had 2 kids and lived off welfare and whined constantly. Before I came along, hub was always bailing her out. I mean ffs. I got a job and moved out at 16 because I wanted to and have always made do. I've borrowed money from my parents about 3 times and have always paid them back because that's what you should do!
He wasn't doing her any favours and I finally made him realise his children aren't his fiscal responsibility until the day he dies. He's a good man, but people are often blinded to the foibles of their own children. If he wants to offer her help when she is making an effort I'm all for it, but there was no way I was going to watch him work to support a frigging 20+ yo. I don't even expect him to bail ME out or subsidise fake eyelashes and expensive hair treatments. It's just ridiculous.
Then finally, years later she has married a good guy, got some qualifications, has a job, have a child together and they are building a house.
The education system in our countries no longer teaches kids how to live: money management, cooking and the like should be standard. All it does is teach them to take and not do.
