Worked in landscaping with a few guys who complained constantly about not making enough to pay their housing and stuff, but smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day and drank 2 or 3 cases of beer a week. Pretty sure the cigs alone could have covered their rents. Another instance, I had a former friend (rabid communist) who complained about his massive student loans not being forgiven (6 years to get an art degree...), but took 2 vacations to Australia in a year, the first a month long and the second 3 weeks long, while his company was "looking for any reason to lay people off" (his own words), and then was shocked when they fired him.
