I knew that Nextdoor was fake. The little while I used their app I noticed how they censured any real information about the china virus.
There was one man on our Nextdoor who pretended to be "just knowledgeable neighbor" but I noticed he intervened every time the conversation went where he didn't want it to go. Many times he warned everyone that HCQ was dangerous and could kill you.
Only once I got into a discussion with a "neighbor' who insisted people in our community were dying left and right. I asked her for proof, not hearsay. She didn't have any so I told her to take a lunch and go sit where she can see the emergency entrance to our designated Covid Hospital - or better yet, I told her go watch the morgue exit and come back and tell us what she discovered.
She said "well maybe there aren't many deaths here in MN but I have a cousin in AZ and she says the hospitals are swamped there". What could you do but laugh in her face and delete the useless app.
I called it a useless app and it is, but it could have been a true benefit during these hard times.
And if someone could create a true Local Neighborhood app with out a political agenda, or maybe with pages like .win that would be the best.
Some subjects: lost pets; dyi; senior meetups; need someone for a little chore around the house or yard; acrylic pour painting, water color in the park; other hobbies - what fun !
And for sure - local, state and federal politics. That could be where you find out about the judges running for office, you know instead of just checking the box by any random judge or writing in your brother-in-law (he needs a job).
